Daily life had turned into a nightmare for a mother and her underage daughter, who for more than a year lived through hell inside their own home at the hands of the father and husband respectively. The man systematically abused his wife and sexually exploited his underage daughter, driving them to physical and psychological devastation.
The case, which unfolded in Patras and a village in Ilia, recently reached the Supreme Court, where the perpetrator appealed seeking to overturn the conviction from the Mixed Jury Court of Appeals of Patras. The highest court rejected his request as unfounded, upholding the Appeals Court decision that imposed a total prison sentence of 7 years and 6 months.
The horrific acts and conviction
According to patrisnews, the convicted man, who is currently held at Grevena prison, was found guilty of:
- Continuous grievous bodily harm against his wife and underage daughter
- Continuous assault on the sexual dignity of the minor
- Continuous attempted sexual abuse of a minor over 14 and under 18 years old
These acts were committed between June 2016 and May 2018, centered at the family residence in Patras and the perpetrator’s family home in a village in Ilia.
Shocking revelations
According to court records and the judgment, the man systematically beat his daughter, causing her psychological trauma and post-traumatic stress, while also abusing his wife. In one of the most shocking incidents in May 2018, he allegedly pushed his wife’s head into the oven and threatened to burn her alive.
According to the same information, the living hell didn’t stop there, as after the physical abuse, the defendant sexually abused his daughter when she reached the age of 15. The sexual abuse lasted from April 2017 until May 25, 2018, while the underage girl reported the incidents to police in June 2018.
The incidents took place daily at their home in Patras and almost every Saturday and Sunday during the summer period of 2017 at the defendant’s parents’ house in a village in Ilia, which he visited with the minor. Additionally, from April 2017 to June 2018 in Patras, continuous attempted sexual abuse of a minor who had completed fourteen years took place.
