Two search and rescue operations involving 110 foreign nationals aboard vessels were conducted under the coordination of the Unified Search and Rescue Coordination Center (EKSED) in the maritime area south of Kalos Limenas in Crete.

In the first operation, 51 foreign nationals were located on a vessel in the maritime area 35 nautical miles south of Kalos Limenas and rescued by a Hellenic Coast Guard offshore vessel, with assistance from a passing ship and an unmanned Frontex drone. The rescued individuals were safely transported to Agia Galini.
In a second, consecutive operation in the broader maritime area 44 nautical miles south of Kalos Limenas, 59 foreign nationals were rescued following the deployment of a Coast Guard offshore vessel, two passing ships, and a Frontex drone. The rescued individuals were transported to Kalos Limenas.
