The 22-year-old accused of being the man who murdered the co-owner of the “Ammos” camping site and the business supervisor in Foinikounda remained in the Kalamata investigator’s office for six hours. The marathon testimony procedure was completed shortly before eight in the evening, with the young man presenting his own version of events. According to his lawyer Dimitris Gavelas, his client insisted that he was not the one who pulled the trigger, he was not the one who entered the camping site, and that his only mistake was agreeing to follow his neighbor and friend to Foinikounda because of what he had experienced during the summer of 2022.
Moreover, according to journalistic sources, the young man expressed concern about the testimony given on Friday by the nephew of the 68-year-old surveyor and attempted murder victim, in which he identified the defendant as the killer of the two men. In the description given by the nephew, according to the accused murderer, he recognized the clothes worn by the 22-year-old alleged mastermind – the gray shorts, white shoes and the rest of his clothing – however, he identified him as the perpetrator, despite the fact that he himself was wearing jeans.
Double murder in Foinikounda: Accomplice testifies
The second defendant, the 22-year-old alleged mastermind, crossed the threshold of the Kalamata Court building just minutes before eight in the evening. His testimony procedure is also expected to be marathon-like, as he is a person of interest. How he escaped remains unknown, even though he claimed he walked and swam to Kalamata, his contacts with the victim’s nephew, his relationship with his former employer, and the latter’s contacts with the 68-year-old’s nephew are just some of the questions he must answer.
It should be noted that so far, the revolver used in the double murder has not been found, nor has the white scooter.
