Product recall of “Raisin cake” from the market was announced by the Hellenic Food Authority. According to related information, the food safety authority and specifically the Peloponnese Regional Directorate proceeded with food sampling of the product named “RAISIN CAKE – THE COOKIE MASTERS” with a best before date of 30/11/25, in packaging with a net weight of approximately 500 grams.

The product is manufactured and packaged in Greece by the company D. GOURGOULIS Mon. LTD, based in Zacharo, Ilia. The sample was examined by the 1st Department of the 1st Chemical Service of Athens of the General State Laboratory of IAPR and was deemed unsafe, as the presence of the substance “coumarin” was detected in concentrations exceeding the maximum legally permitted limit for this food category. The food safety authority requested the immediate withdrawal and recall of this specific batch of the product, while related inspections are already underway. Additionally, the organization calls on consumers who have purchased this product not to consume it.
