A serious incident of domestic violence occurred on Wednesday evening (17/10/2025) at a hotel in Lasithi, when a British mother of three children violently attacked her husband in front of their minor children. The couple was vacationing in Crete, but their stay turned into a nightmare.
The woman allegedly struck her husband and attempted to seriously injure him in the head, resulting in the man sustaining an injury to his eye and being rushed to PAGNI hospital, at risk of losing his vision.

According to patris.gr sources, the incident caused panic at the hotel, as the British man’s screams could be heard throughout the complex. Guests and staff called the police, initially believing the man was abusing his wife.
However, when police arrived, they found that the victim was the husband, who had emerged from the room screaming in pain while clutching his eye. The man was initially taken to Lasithi hospital and then transferred to Heraklion due to the severity of his injury.
Crete: Hospitalization, arrest and child care
The same sources report that the woman forcefully threw a mobile phone, which struck her husband in the eye. The victim was hospitalized and then returned to the hotel to care for his three children, as his wife had already been arrested and spent the night in custody at the Lasithi Police Department.
