A young man caused complete mayhem in the early hours of Thursday (16/10) in the Maroussi area, after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into the glass storefront of a Hellenic Post branch.
Kifisias Avenue: The drunk driving incident
The incident occurred around 04:00 in the early morning hours and as shown in the video footage obtained by parapolitika.gr, the 21-year-old driver was traveling at significant speed on Kifisias Avenue. At an unsuspecting moment he lost control of the vehicle, which veered off course and slid backwards, crashing into the glass storefront of the Hellenic Post branch.
The collision caused significant material damage to the store and vehicle, however the 21-year-old had a guardian angel, as he escaped with only minor injuries.
Police forces arrived at the scene, while a breathalyzer test was conducted which determined that the young man had exceeded the permitted alcohol consumption limit. He was fined 350 euros and had his license suspended.
