Only if the… fork, which the 40-year-old Georgian husband stabbed into the right eye of his also Georgian, 39-year-old pregnant wife, in her third month of pregnancy, has not damaged her optic nerve and/or has not caused complete retinal detachment, only then will the 39-year-old – victim of extreme domestic violence by her husband – manage, through the superhuman efforts that the ophthalmologic surgeons at Chaidari University Hospital “Attikon” are determined to make, to regain her vision. In any other case, however, the 39-year-old pregnant woman will permanently lose vision in her right eye.
It should be noted that the victim underwent her first surgical procedure on her right eye the day before yesterday, successfully. The purpose of this surgical intervention was to reconstruct the substance of her right eye globe, and a long series of new surgical procedures on her right eye is expected to follow. It’s worth noting that all the above information comes from very well-informed sources of parapolitika.gr, as complete silence has been ordered by the treating physicians and the administration of Attikon, since the 40-year-old has been arrested by Greek Police officers and the case is expected to go through the justice system to ensure proper legal consequences according to the law.
The fortunate outcome from this episode of extreme domestic violence against the 39-year-old Georgian pregnant woman is that the fetus was miraculously saved and is not in any danger of being lost. It’s also worth remembering that when the 39-year-old arrived in miserable condition, bleeding, at the emergency department (ED) of Attikon on the morning of last Tuesday, October 7th, literally the entire medical and nursing staff of the institution’s ED mobilized to save whatever was humanly and medically possible to save. The 39-year-old severely injured woman was thoroughly examined successively by surgeons, neurosurgeons, ophthalmologists, and pathologists at Attikon, while she continues, of course, to be hospitalized in the hospital’s obstetrics-gynecology clinic, constantly guarded by police forces.
Irony of fate on World Sight Day…
An irony of fate can be characterized by the fact that yesterday, Thursday October 9th, World Sight Day was celebrated. In fact, the central message of the awareness campaign, which is developed internationally, is the following: “Love Your Eyes So Others Can Too”…
