A shocking incident occurred in Lesbos, where a 13-month-old baby was seriously injured while in their stroller, suffering severe burns from hot beverage that was accidentally spilled by a waitress at a seaside café.

According to aeolos.tv reports, the infant was taken to Mytilene Hospital, where doctors determined due to the severity of the burn injuries to the head and body that emergency transfer to a hospital in Athens was necessary. Coast Guard officials arrested the 20-year-old waitress.
According to reports, the 20-year-old was released a few hours later on orders from the Public Prosecutor. The Prosecutor will decide whether to press charges against the young waitress, after taking statements from the parents, who are currently in Athens with their child.

Yesterday evening, Coast Guard Authority officers in Mytilene arrested a 20-year-old Greek woman for violation of Article 314 of the Penal Code “Bodily harm through negligence.” Specifically, while the 20-year-old was working at a restaurant within the Port’s Land Zone, she spilled hot beverage on an infant who was in a stroller, causing burns. The infant was initially transferred to the General Hospital “VOSTANEIO” and subsequently airlifted to a hospital in Athens for medical treatment. A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Central Port Authority of Mytilene.
