While the school year started just half a month ago, when schools will close for Christmas this year remains a constant concern for students and educators alike. As every year, primary and secondary education schools will remain closed for the holidays, according to the official school calendar from the Ministry of Education.

The Christmas holiday for schools officially begins on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Christmas Eve. From that day, all school units will remain closed throughout the country.
When schools reopen after Christmas
Once the holiday period passes, students will return to their desks on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, as January 6 (Epiphany) is an official holiday. Thus, the total duration of the Christmas 2025 break will be approximately two weeks. This period provides an opportunity for students to rest and prepare for the second trimester.
Summary: Schools will remain closed from 24/12/2025 through 6/1/2026 and classes resume again on 7/1/2026.
