Live News reports the testimony of Vasilis Bisbikis to the Kifissia Traffic Police, where he explained the events surrounding the car accident he was involved in. According to the actor, he lost control of his vehicle and got out of the car, discovering damage to parked vehicles. Since no one was at the scene and due to the time of day, he left his details on a piece of paper, using an advertising flyer as he had no blank page.
Vasilis Bisbikis: “I called the insurance company myself and reported the accident”
In his testimony, Mr. Bisbikis states: “I got out and found that there was material damage to parked vehicles. There was no one at the scene and due to the time I left a note with my details. I had no blank page and used an advertising flyer. A few hours later when I woke up I contacted my associate (he mentions his associate’s name) to contact the Filothei Police Station and inform them about the incident. Which she did and left my details in case any of the vehicle owners were looking for me. Immediately after the phone call I called the insurance company myself and reported the accident.”
Bisbikis: Officer contradicts actor’s associate’s account
The conversation he had with Vasilis Bisbikis’s associate was revealed to his close circle by an officer from the Filothei Police Station service, on Saturday afternoon almost 11 hours after the accident that occurred at dawn, when his SUV “hit” three parked cars, ending up against a garden wall. Specifically, according to Mr. Bisbikis, his associate called the Filothei police station and informed the authorities about the incident. However, the police officer who received the call stated: “She never told me that he hit three cars.”
“Mr. Bisbikis’s associate never told me that he hit three cars”
Specifically, as revealed on a Mega TV show, the authorities were not fully informed about the accident, with Mr. Bisbikis’s associate stating that he “hit someone while unparking.” In particular, the officer who received the call revealed that: “A lady called me on Saturday around 4:00 to 5:00 PM, to inform about an accident. She told me she was Mr. Bisbikis’s associate. Specifically, that Mr. Bisbikis hit someone while unparking and asked me what the procedure was. I explained to her that in these cases we either notify 100 for a patrol car to come and record it. ‘No,’ she tells me, ‘Mr. Bisbikis was in a big hurry and left.’ Fine, I tell her, if the damage is minor, you can tell Mr. Bisbikis to go back, see the license plate of the vehicle he hit and make a friendly statement. To talk to his insurer.” “Mr. Bisbikis’s associate never told me that he hit three cars and that he collected trees and walls. She didn’t tell me those things…,” he clarified.
“She gave me to understand from the data she presented to me by phone that he had an accident with material damage, but the accident was not what was found to be the case. So I gave her information and directed her based on the data she presented to me by phone,” the officer added. “I couldn’t have knowledge of what happened over the phone. And so I told her ‘if the damage is minor, you may not need to call a patrol car.’ ‘Let Mr. Bisbikis go back,’ I tell her, ‘to see the license plate of the vehicle he hit and make a friendly statement to him.’ She never told me the real facts, that he hit three cars, that he totaled one, that he took a wall with him…,” he concluded.
