The local community remains shocked after the bloody shooting incident that occurred early Tuesday morning in the Drosia area. Authorities are now focusing on the 38-year-old man’s relationship with a woman of Romanian origin, the child they had together, and their separation 4 years ago.
“Around 6:20, 6:30, I’ll be honest about the time, I heard four gunshots. One at the beginning, isolated, the first one, and I heard ‘help’,” an eyewitness tells Live News.
Strong police forces are working to unravel the case, having obtained video evidence from the bloody attack. It’s worth noting that the victim and perpetrator appear to have known each other, while an eyewitness describes the moment the man collapsed. “I saw some people waiting and they had notified the police. And I also saw a garbage truck. I saw the man fallen afterwards and he was talking to the police officers.” Another testimony states: “The one who got involved with a suspect over there, she’s a bit psycho or a drug addict or psycho, so she set him up.”
The 38-year-old victim identified his ex-girlfriend’s current partner as the perpetrator, with the victim apparently escaping the worst by hiding in bushes. However, the gunman searched for him there too. Police found three shell casings at the scene, while witness testimonies speak of 6 gunshots. All of this was the result of a premeditated ambush.

Police officers are taking statements from eyewitnesses and seeking information from security cameras in the area to track the perpetrator’s movements and confirm whether it was indeed the ex-girlfriend’s current partner.
A security camera captured a man around 6:30 in the morning, walking about a block away from the victim’s house.
Authorities are investigating the figure of the man in the video to determine if he is indeed the perpetrator.
