The Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports announced the relaunch of the Digital Tutoring Platform, which conducts “live” lessons starting Monday, September 22, 2025. This is an “innovative initiative” that “supports all students through live lessons, offering free access to quality education and equal opportunities in their preparation for the Panhellenic Examinations – significantly reducing the burden on Greek families,” noted Sofia Zacharaki.

Digital tutoring platform: Free access to lessons
Specifically, with the start of the new school year on September 11, 2025, the Digital Tutoring Platform:
- Continues “live” lessons for most nationally examined subjects in General High Schools, Vocational High Schools and specialized subjects.
- Enriches the asynchronous support platform (lms.digitalschool.gov.gr) with new exercises, reviews and high-quality videos.
- Maintains teaching by experienced educators who combine modern techniques and e-learning technologies
- Expands accessibility for students with special needs, ensuring material and support adapted to their requirements.
- Aims to create a learning community where students and teachers collaborate, exchange ideas and enhance their digital skills.
- Additionally, the platform https://streaming.digitalschool.gov.gr will be enhanced with produced video lessons, reputable educational material of high quality throughout the new school year, so that students from 5th grade elementary to 2nd grade high school can have free and open access, whenever they wish, to asynchronous educational material for the majority of subjects in the Greek educational system.

Digital tutoring platform: Previous school year statistics
It is noted that last year recorded 3,500 hours of live online lessons of 45 minutes duration, which were also provided in sign language and subtitled for full accessibility. In total, 146,000 students from Greece, Cyprus and abroad attended the Digital Tutoring Platform lessons, while a significant number of graduates from previous years gained the opportunity to attend lessons for successful participation in the Panhellenic examinations. Free access to digital material (review exercises, simulation tests, interactive quizzes) and equal educational opportunities for students in remote areas were, according to the Ministry of Education, “decisive pillars of success.” Educators taught nationally examined subjects remotely in real time, while supporting and evaluating students asynchronously, both until the end of March when the curriculum was completed in the offered nationally examined subjects, and during April-May, when intensive reviews were conducted in all subjects with step-by-step explanations of problem-solving methods in simulation tests for each nationally examined subject. Additionally, the platform was made available to graduates throughout the summer period.
Zacharaki: The Digital Tutoring Platform has “taken root” for good
It is highlighted that Education Minister Sofia Zacharaki stated: “The Digital Tutoring Platform represents a collective achievement for the education sector that has “taken root” for good, as last year it provided more than 3,500 hours of teaching by experienced educators and was embraced by 146,000 students from Greece, Cyprus and abroad,” while adding: “With last year’s successful experience as our ‘compass,’ we continue even more dynamically this year: with new simulation tests, enriched asynchronous material, high-quality video lessons and greater support for our children with special educational needs. Our goal is that no child should be deprived of the right to pursue their dreams. I want you to know that on this journey you are not alone – we are your companions, to encourage and support you at every step, on the beautiful journey towards success.”
