The Athens Three-Member Misdemeanor Court accepted the defense’s request after submitting a document from Konstantopoulio Hospital “Agia Olga,” where, according to the certificate, the defendant is hospitalized in the ICU due to cardiac problems. In the same context, the doctor’s sister testified that he is a chronic heart patient.

The civil lawsuit questioned the reasoning for the new postponement, characterizing the reason as “pretextual” and asking the court to investigate whether the doctor is actually hospitalized. “Last time the document was also from a public hospital,” noted the complainant’s attorney. The defense emphasized that the previous injury was related to the defendant’s cardiac problems. The prosecutor recommended accepting the request and the court set a new trial date for January 27, 2026.
