A group of minors appears to have set up an ambush for the perpetrators of the violent assault of a 15-year-old, an incident that occurred in a central area of Patras, on Eleftheriou Venizelou street on Thursday evening (18/09) just days after the start of the new school year. Specifically, according to information, the minors spotted the unsuspecting victim on the street, approached him and began punching him furiously. It should be noted that the 15-year-old middle school student suffered fractures to his jaw and nose, while he was transported bloodied to Karamandaneio Pediatric Hospital.
Brutal assault in Patras: How they ambushed the 15-year-old
Specifically, according to tempo24.news, citing police sources, the three minors – two 15-year-old Patras residents and one 16-year-old (foreign national from Albania), violently attacked the 15-year-old when they saw him on the street. According to what the victim’s entourage told authorities, he was unable to react, being in a state of shock, while he suffered serious injuries from the brutal attack. It is noted that the perpetrators were identified and arrested immediately after intervention by Patras Security police officers, who – in view of the increase in cases of juvenile violence – have prioritized child protection. It should be noted that, according to the same source, one of the three arrested attended the same middle school as the victim. In fact, he had previously been a victim of bullying, according to information from his school environment. The other two arrested attended different school complexes and Patras Security is investigating whether they had previous issues with the 15-year-old.
A case file was formed against the three minors who are charged with bodily harm against a vulnerable person. According to a police announcement, they are expected to be brought before the prosecutor today. At the same time, Security proceeded to arrest one parent for neglect of minor supervision and are searching for the parents of the other two minors who exhibited the delinquent behavior.

Three minors, aged 16, 15 and 14 years, were arrested yesterday afternoon in Patras by officers of the Crime Investigation and Detection Sub-Directorate of Patras, against whom a case file was formed for bodily harm to vulnerable persons, while the parents of two minors were arrested for neglecting their supervision. Specifically, the day before yesterday afternoon, in Patras, the three minors approached a 15-year-old and punched him in the head and face, resulting in causing him bodily harm, during which he suffered a fracture to the jaw and nasal bone. The injured minor was transported to an Athens Hospital in order to undergo surgery to repair his injuries. The arrested minors will be brought before the Prosecutor of Achaia First Instance Court.
