At the Afenti Christou Monastery in Crete, a man broke into a church attempting to steal the donation box. According to security camera footage, the perpetrator wore sunglasses and had wrapped his shirt around his head.
Failed theft attempt
Despite his efforts, he failed to open the donation box. Instead, once he noticed the presence of cameras, he destroyed one of them with a metal object, causing damage to the sacred space.
Authorities are examining the video footage to identify the perpetrator, while investigations continue for possible accomplices or previous break-ins in the area.
