A heavily marked criminal, recently released from prison and only 16 years old, is the protagonist of the dramatic police chase that took place on Sunday at 3:30 PM in Kallithea, which resulted in the injury of a police officer. It should be noted that officers from the DIAS patrol unit spotted the suspicious motorcycle on Theseos Avenue, at the height of Agii Pantes. Despite signaling the rider to stop for a routine check, the rider accelerated, reaching the intersection of Solonos and Herakleous streets.

The young man, who is expected to be brought before the prosecutor within the next few hours, faces charges of repeated theft as the preliminary investigation revealed his identification in two similar theft cases in the Nea Smyrni area. It should be noted that authorities had been notified of the theft of the motorcycle he was riding from the Moschato area before locating him.
Additionally, during the chase, the young man ran 6 red lights and administrative fines totaling 5,000 euros were issued against him. Regarding his criminal history, police sources tell parapolitika.gr that the young man has been arrested before on charges of joining a criminal gang, and has served time at the Kassaveteia correctional facility, from which he was released just last July.
