The actions of the pimp are shocking. According to the warrant, at least since 2016, he approached young women, including at least one minor, who were in poor financial situations or other vulnerable positions. After initially developing friendly relationships with them and in some cases lending them money, he would later demand the money back and, even with threats and physical or psychological violence, force them to engage in sexual encounters.
42-year-old pimp: What one of his victims reveals
Exclusively on Live News, a young woman will speak about getting entangled in dark networks at just 16 years old. “It started when I was 16, when I had gone and found a clothing store in Glyfada through an advertisement. I had properly done my paperwork for minor employment insurance. That’s where I met this man. I stayed at the clothing store for three months, but it wasn’t doing well financially. I asked him for some money because I needed to pay rent or I would be evicted,” she said and continued:
“I discovered from a girl who was in a relationship with him at the time, and she told me ‘hey, you know, do you know that so-and-so does this work?’ – that he takes girls on dates, and I talked to him and he tells me ‘yes indeed I am in this business’.”
He forced them to use drugs through violence
The encounters took place with “clients” in hotels and homes throughout Attica, where in many cases he transported them himself. He forced them through violence to use drugs, especially cocaine, while in other cases, exercising physical violence, he engaged in sexual acts against his victims. “It started very badly, with threats. We had a meeting that didn’t end very nicely, like him raising his hand, pushing me, spitting at me, telling me ‘you will do what I tell you because you owe me money from back then and you haven’t paid it off.’ When all this started I was 17,” said the 42-year-old’s victim.
He spread rumors that he maintained close relationships with prominent figures and politicians, including even the Minister of Citizen Protection, who supposedly would ensure his impunity, something that immediately provoked a reaction from Michalis Chrysochoidis as soon as he learned about it.
His activities since 2016
The 42-year-old man who fell into the hands of authorities had spread his tentacles, according to the charges, since 2016. For almost a decade, the man who presented himself as a producer of sensual films was a procurer of girls who report getting involuntarily entangled in paid sex networks. Five years ago he established a company producing pornographic films and videos. He promised his victims large financial gains, or alternatively threatened them and exercised physical or psychological violence, thus forcing them to participate in sexual acts, which he videotaped. He uploaded the pornographic videos to a website where users could view them with a subscription, which he kept for himself.
The victims number at least 5, including one minor girl. The method he used was simple and well-known: with lies and fairy tales he approached the girls, telling them they would supposedly make careers, but ultimately prostituted them according to the accusers. “There are definitely more than 10 girls. He would find your weakness and ‘hit’ you there. When I told him I would go to the police, he threatened me about drug use and said he would tell them I was a junkie. I got beaten to get the drugs, I had no other choice,” a complainant tells MEGA. Until 2022 he forced victims to have more and more sexual encounters. He arranged the meetings himself, for high fees, exploiting the promotional exposure women gained from participating in pornographic videos.
The shock from how their acquaintance with the otherwise respectable producer turned out was so great that at least one girl ended up in a psychiatric hospital, while another reported filming movies even during her pregnancy. “We arrested Athens’ biggest pimp,” police said when they handcuffed the 42-year-old. As the women reported in their complaints, he physically abused them, drugged them – giving them cocaine – and forced them into prostitution, reaching up to ten “clients” per day, while they participated unwillingly in pornographic videos. Parties were organized in villas in Ekali and Glyfada with participation from businessmen from Greece and abroad, where women “offered” their services.
They hid in a car trunk when police were notified
Not all girls were so lucky or so brave, as fear overwhelmed them. In at least one case, a sexual encounter could perhaps have brought liberation, because one of the men who sought the paid companionship of two 20-year-old girls called the police.
He did this because the girls’ appearance made him believe something wasn’t right. However, the girls, although anyone would expect they would be happy to escape their bonds, were so terrorized by threats that they hid from police. They even crawled into a car trunk to avoid being found.
Fortunately, in the last quarter, the women found courage and one by one went to police and revealed their ordeal. The arrest of the man who spread word that he had connections very high up and no one could touch him was made by the Greek FBI. After the testimonies of five women, it was a matter of time before he fell into their hands, and they finally handcuffed the man outside his home in Agios Dimitrios, where he must now answer to justice.
