Expensive watches, designer women’s handbags, jewelry from major international houses, cash and other precious items were stolen by two men during raids they carried out at 7 luxury villas in Mykonos recently. The two perpetrators are foreign nationals who managed to bypass security measures and break into the luxurious homes of tourists on the “island of winds”. Police searched for weeks for traces of the two men, who had become the fear and terror of wealthy clients renting luxury houses. Their loot, according to preliminary police estimates, reaches €200,000 following complaints filed by the victims of the attacks. The 49-year-old man and his accomplice monitored the houses they had …set their sights on.
As soon as they saw the tenants leaving, they put their plan into action. Either through windows or balcony doors, they managed to gain access to the interior of the house, which they “emptied” within minutes. According to the police who handled the case, the two men stole a total of 7 high-value wristwatches, numerous gold items and jewelry such as solitaires, rings, wedding bands, earrings, chains, pendants, crosses, bracelets, 9 high-value women’s handbags, a pair of designer men’s shoes, a waist belt and wallet, jewelry cases, while burglary tools and the sum of €160 in cash were found in the 49-year-old’s possession.
Some minimal items that they didn’t have time to “push” to fences were found in the perpetrator’s possession and after investigations, were returned to their rightful owners. Administrative deportation proceedings have been initiated against the 49-year-old.
