A shocking fatal accident occurred on Thursday (11/9) in Malia, Crete, when a vehicle, for reasons unknown at this time, veered off course and entered oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a motorcycle carrying a 23-year-old woman. The collision was severe and resulted in the instant death of the young rider, despite the fact that she was wearing a helmet.

In video footage published by neakriti.gr, the 27-year-old driver of Egyptian origin is captured moving at high speed and crossing into the opposite lane of Grammatikakis Street. There he collided head-on with the motorcycle carrying the 23-year-old Greek woman. The collision was so severe that the young woman, despite wearing a helmet, lost her life instantly. The accident occurred around 05:00 in the morning on a narrow road, which intensifies the dramatic nature of the incident. According to information, the 23-year-old did not have a driving license and worked at an entertainment venue in the area.
An ambulance from the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAB) rushed to the scene, but paramedics found that the young woman was already dead. The 27-year-old driver of the second motorcycle, who also did not have a driving license and was not wearing a helmet, was arrested. The Greek Police have launched a preliminary investigation into the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
