Georgia Siakavara spoke exclusively to Parapolitika and journalist Sasa Stamati, revealing the serious health ordeal she experienced and wanting to send a prevention message to her audience. The partner of Konstantinos Plevris described her experience in detail, from the onset of initial pain to the successful surgery. “If it weren’t for Konstantinos, I would be in the cemetery. Hippokration Hospital was on duty yesterday. I’m afraid of hospitals, but Konstantinos insisted tremendously because he saw me suffering. My sister’s partner took me to the hospital and they put me in the emergency room and we did all the tests, finally the CT scan showed it. Today the doctor showed me photos and told me that if we hadn’t removed it, I would have gotten sepsis and died, or they would have had to cut the part of the intestine that had gotten entangled. They removed it successfully before it could get serious, and they’ve placed a mesh on the hernias and the clips will be absorbed, but I’ll be in pain for two to three months”.
The diagnosis and surgery
Georgia was diagnosed with a femoral hernia, a type of hernia that appears in the thigh area, low in the abdomen. As she explained earlier in her post: “It seemed somewhat like colic, they were starting to rule things out and finally needed a CT scan for some problem that wasn’t clearly visible with ultrasound. In the end, it was a femoral hernia, a type of hernia, which in my case is where the thigh begins, low in the abdomen. The big problem was that between two such hernias, a piece of intestine had gotten trapped. The people admitted me immediately. Even leaving this for a few hours complicates the situation and they might have needed to cut my intestine, which thankfully they didn’t have to do”.
Recovery and message to the public
After the surgery at Hippokration Hospital, Georgia is recovering, with mesh on the hernias and mild discomfort for the coming weeks. Through her experience, she sends a powerful message of responsibility and care: not to neglect any health problem, even if it seems minor, as early treatment can prevent serious consequences. “I want to thank everyone here and especially a very sweet doctor, Mr. Smparouni, who was my surgeon. Everything is fine in the end, there will naturally be a recovery period. What I want to say is don’t leave things unchecked, go to the doctor or hospital. I had experienced such nights where the situation was painful and I hadn’t gone. Big mistake. I urge you not to do this,” concluded the well-known performer.
