Athens gets permanent 24-hour public transport operation starting Saturday (13/09). Athens Metro (lines 2 and 3), Tram (lines T6 and T7) as well as selected bus routes, covering key points of the metropolitan area will operate around the clock every Saturday.

This initiative offers a safe and reliable option for the public at all hours of the day and night, enhancing the overall transportation experience in the city. It also represents another step towards the comprehensive upgrade of urban transport services and strengthening Athens’ international profile. Additionally, it supports tourism, entertainment and economic activity, upgrading Athens’ image as a European metropolis.
How public transport will operate from Saturday
Workers across all transport modes played a catalytic role in the transition from pilot implementation to permanent operation of routes established by OASA, supporting the initiative with professionalism and responsibility.
