Deep concern has been raised in the local community of Lemnos following an incident where dogs were abandoned at the island’s shelter in a heartbreaking manner. The brutal abandonment of dogs was captured by the security camera of the Lemnos Municipal Dog Shelter and brought to public attention by the Animal Welfare Association of Lemnos “Stray Souls”.

Specifically, the security footage from the Municipal Dog Shelter shows an agricultural vehicle approaching the entrance of the facility, with the occupants throwing three dogs over the fence “like garbage bags,” as noted in the publication.

The images cause shock, anger and disgust, with the Animal Welfare Association of Lemnos emphasizing that it “will take appropriate action.”
The Animal Welfare Association of Lemnos “Stray Souls” stated: “Three animals were thrown into the shelter. Three dogs were thrown like garbage bags over the fence of the municipality’s temporary stray animal housing facility.
Unfortunately for them, the perpetrators were caught on camera and naturally our Association will take appropriate action.”
