A veil of mystery continues to shroud the circumstances surrounding the death of a 22-year-old who was found stabbed in his home in Corinth. Specifically, the young man was discovered bloodied by relatives, who notified the authorities.
What the forensic examination revealed
According to initial findings from the forensic investigation, the 22-year-old had two wounds, on the left and right sides of his neck. The wound on the left was deeper while the other was shallow. Additionally, superficial abrasions were found on his abdomen. Evidence that for many weakens the suicide scenario.
“The wounds on the abdomen could be hesitation wounds. To strengthen the suspicion of homicide, there would need to be signs of immobilization or drugging. That’s why I believe the coroner is right to wait for the toxicological test results. What bothers me is why he tried to cause injury with the opposite hand. The deep wound is usually the final wound. The first ones are hesitation wounds and more superficial,” said forensic pathologist Dimitris Galenteris, speaking to Live News.
“His broken phone and a piece of insulating tape were found”
According to information from Georgios Kalliakmanis, honorary president of the Police Officers Union of Northeast Attica, at the location where the 22-year-old was found dead, his broken mobile phone was discovered along with a piece of insulating tape, which may have been in his mouth and subsequently fell out or was removed by someone.
Furthermore, as he reported, video footage shows the 22-year-old entering the house first, and an hour later his brother enters. According to Kalliakmanis’s information, the 22-year-old’s brother was the person who discovered him dead and subsequently called their father.
