A 49-year-old postal worker was rushed to hospital with chest injuries after being attacked by a dog while delivering mail on Monday afternoon in Panorama, Thessaloniki.

According to information from voria.gr, the dog’s guardian has passed away and the animal is now cared for by her 21-year-old granddaughter.
According to the same sources, when the postal worker attempted to deliver the mail, the dog lunged at him, resulting in the 49-year-old being injured.
The 21-year-old woman was arrested but was subsequently released on prosecutor’s orders. A preliminary investigation has been ordered to examine the circumstances under which the incident occurred.
