The last Sunday of summer is coming to an end and thousands of citizens flooded the beaches to enjoy a few more moments of carefree bliss. Organized beaches will continue to operate throughout September, providing opportunities for relaxation even after the end of August.
Just a breath away from autumn, summer’s heart still beats strong with sun, sea, sunscreen and umbrellas creating a scene reminiscent of midsummer. Despite the calendar showing August 31st, hundreds of beachgoers refuse to part with their swimsuits and lounge chairs.
All ages hit the sea for one last summer dip
Young and old alike flooded the beaches today for the final summer swim. Some had just returned from vacation, others took advantage of their day off for a dip. All roads lead to the beach. For many, this is the last swim of this year’s summer, for others simply a reminder that in Greece, summer lasts a little longer.
