Today, Sunday (31/9), marks the last day of summer, and the return of vacationers to the capital reaches its peak. Just for today, Sunday, it is estimated that over 33,000 people are returning to Athens, while at the same time thousands of others continue their holidays, traveling to the islands of the Saronic Gulf.

According to ERT and data from the Port Authorities, 27 ferry routes have been scheduled from Piraeus port, which has created intense activity both at the port and on the roads leading to it. Travelers are advised to arrive early for boarding to avoid delays and inconvenience.
The last day of the month marks for many travelers the end of their summer holidays and the return to daily routine. At the port, the scene is characteristic: passengers arrive with packed suitcases, ready to return to the city, while others continue to take advantage of the sun and summer atmosphere, choosing short getaways to nearby destinations.
