The owner and driver of the Porsche who caused the car accident in Thermi Thessaloniki and then fled the scene has been arrested. She is a 45-year-old woman, current owner of an aesthetic center and former owner of a pawn shop, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident and is expected to be brought before the prosecutor, with charges filed against her.

The woman earlier admitted that she was behind the wheel of the black Porsche involved in the serious accident in the early hours of Friday on Moudanion Street, at the height of Thermi in Thessaloniki, in the outbound traffic from the city. It should be noted that authorities were searching for the 45-year-old to testify whether she was the one driving the vehicle that was traveling at breakneck speed, hit another vehicle –causing the second car to be hurled 100 meters away– and then abandoned the scene.

As determined, the woman had consumed alcohol before driving and was still under the influence at the time the relevant measurement was taken. The 45-year-old was transferred to the hospital for blood sampling to determine the exact blood alcohol percentage.
Timeline of the Thermi Thessaloniki accident
The accident occurred around 5 AM, shortly after the height of a well-known commercial center. According to witness testimonies, the Porsche was moving at breakneck speed and rammed into a second vehicle, which from the force of the collision was transformed into a shapeless mass of metal. A man and woman were in the vehicle, who were transferred to the hospital, with the woman hospitalized in serious condition.
Initially there was confusion about who was driving the Porsche, as according to eyewitnesses, the driver had freed themselves by breaking the sunroof and left the scene before the first forces of the Hellenic Police and ambulance services arrived. However, Thessaloniki Traffic Police, utilizing the evidence, concluded the identity of the owner, who finally confessed to her involvement.
Two people injured, Porsche driver abandons the scene
Two people riding in the second vehicle were injured in the collision, a woman more seriously and a man less severely. Both were transported by ambulance to AHEPA Hospital, but their lives are not in danger.
According to information, the Porsche driver immediately after the accident broke her car’s sunroof and fled the scene, leaving the two occupants of the other car bloodied.
