New revelations are coming to light about the municipal employee accused of arson attacks in Pallini. According to Live News, there are photographs showing his van near the Music High School just seconds before smoke appeared. The case was revealed when he was arrested, however he denies everything. Authorities, nevertheless, state with certainty that they have caught the arsonist of Pallini.
In a Mega TV report, it’s noted that the municipal employee moved around with a van that was easily recognizable to area residents and set fires near structures that were part of his routes. The fires occurred at specific times, from 15:58 – 19:17. The timing coincides with the hours when he dropped off and picked up children from creative activities.
Where the municipal employee operated
The locations include the Community Mental Health Center for Children & Adolescents on Marathon Avenue, the Experimental Music High School and Middle School, and the Creative Activities Center nearby. All are close to the points where fires broke out.
According to Live News information, his contract was renewed last August for the period 1/9/24 to 31/8/25. The municipal employee, according to the mayor, had been a contractor with the Municipality since December 2019, meaning he worked there for 6 years. “It’s all lies, I’m innocent,” the municipal employee told Live News.
“You got the wrong person”
“I didn’t do anything, I didn’t set the fires. I started going to the police to give a statement and that’s where they arrested me. I left my car at the depot and then always drove the Municipality’s van, and all the routes were to pick up and drop off children at their homes. I have a clean criminal record and have worked in 8 Municipalities. You got the wrong person,” he added.
However, Mega sources report that the man is now changing his stance as he had initially admitted his involvement. “I’m addicted to gambling, every time I lost I set a fire,” he allegedly claimed initially. According to authorities, when the man lost money, he would throw burning papers onto dry grass. His father, in communication with Live News, maintained that what the authorities are charging him with are lies.
