Skydra: 76-year-old spent two hours explaining what happened on August 16
The 76-year-old spent two hours explaining what happened on August 16, when he encountered the 72-year-old in a rural area of Dafni, Pella, and shot and killed him, confirming that he shot him once in the head.
In his testimony, the 76-year-old also stated that he took 1,770 euros from the victim’s pockets, which he returned when he surrendered to police, after authorities had previously found the 72-year-old’s body dumped in an illegal landfill in a rural area of Dafni. The 76-year-old’s lawyer requested that the investigating magistrate order a psychiatric evaluation.
Skydra: 76-year-old had confessed to killing his 72-year-old neighbor
It should be noted that the 76-year-old man from Pella had confessed to killing his 72-year-old neighbor, claiming that he was stealing trivial items from him, such as peaches and wood. He shot him in cold blood twice with his rifle in the middle of the road.
“The perpetrator thought he saw him in his field, which I don’t believe because my father was returning from shopping. They found the meat he bought, the cheese and other things he bought for home. Would he go to the field with cheese? He thought so, it had probably gotten into his head. I saw this man once myself, passing by and cursing, but my father never paid attention, they never came to blows and he never went to find him to argue with him even though he was cursing,” said the victim’s daughter. While the 72-year-old’s family lived in anguish for days about the fate of their loved one, his killer was walking among them in the village, as if nothing had happened. A recent incident at the village café was what led investigations to focus on the 76-year-old killer.
