The perpetrator crossed the threshold of the Edessa Court Prosecutor’s office on Tuesday afternoon. The elderly man, with his head bowed and wearing a bulletproof vest, was led to the Edessa Court building, while simultaneously hiding his face with a towel. According to reports, the 76-year-old killed a fellow villager aged 72 with a rifle, because, as he said, the victim was stealing his peaches and entering his fields.
Skydra: The 76-year-old’s confession
“I shot him twice with the rifle and killed him,” the 76-year-old reportedly told police officers, according to voria.gr. In fact, he confessed to murdering his fellow villager on Saturday afternoon, August 16. He then hastily hid the body and the two shell casings to prevent their discovery. That evening he returned to the scene, tied the body to his vehicle, dragged it to the makeshift dump outside the village where he concealed it with various debris and garbage.
It should be noted that police officers visited the dump three times and had failed to locate the body. The perpetrator eventually appeared at the police station on his own, where he confessed to murdering his fellow villager.
