The lawyer of Irini Mourtzoukou, Nikos Alexandris, expressed his belief that new charges will emerge against new individuals regarding the remaining dead children, besides little Panagiotakis, speaking on the show “10 Everywhere” on OPEN TV.
“Mrs. Mourtzoukou had said from the beginning that she wishes to testify. When the investigator called her, she testified about what she was asked. When she is called by the competent investigator to testify about the circumstances of Panagiotakis’ death and with respect for the child who was lost, then she will say what she knows. However, another stage must precede this. Whether it is a criminal act or not. For this to happen, the report must be issued. As soon as this happens and charges are brought, if she is called as a defendant, she will testify to what she wants,” noted Mourtzoukou’s lawyer and continued:
Mourtzoukou’s lawyer: “If it turns out to be a crime, responsibility must be sought elsewhere”
“She herself has stated that she has no involvement and no responsibility in Panagiotakis’ death. If it turns out to be a crime, responsibility must be sought elsewhere. She will therefore describe the circumstances under which the child was taken to the hospital and his death was confirmed.”
“I suspect that new individuals will emerge in the case and new charges will be brought. My conviction is that new charges will emerge for the remaining deaths as well, not only for that of little Panagiotakis. She herself has described the circumstances of death of the other children too. Every investigator who has a complete case file in their hands, brings or does not bring supplementary charges. Mrs. Mourtzoukou has not confessed to suffocating any child, she has referred to what her responsibility is and the extent of her responsibility,” he continued.
