On Sunday afternoon (24/8), a rescue operation was carried out by the 6th EMAK unit for the rescue of 38 passengers from the Rack Railway, following a malfunction in the train that was operating the Diakofto – Kalavryta route.

The train stopped due to a technical problem near the Triklia area, while a backup train arrived at the location and picked up the passengers shortly before 8:00 PM, transporting them to Diakofto. There, a Hellenic Train bus was waiting to serve those who wished to continue to Kalavryta, which was the original destination of the railway journey.
Hellenic Train is conducting an investigation into the causes of the malfunction.
