Alexandra Nikolaidou: funeral scheduled for Tuesday, August 26
Family members posted on Facebook on Sunday, August 24, announcing that Alexandra’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 26 at 12:30 PM at Holargos Cemetery. They also stated that the family’s wish is for donations to be made to the Floga association for parents of children with cancer, instead of wreaths.
The post was accompanied by two photographs of the unfortunate woman, one showing her with a shaved head during her battle.
They described the cancer that appeared in her life as a “monster” and emphasized that Alexandra Nikolaidou was a fighter throughout the entire period she faced the disease.
As they wrote in detail: “Yesterday we said goodbye to our little sister, Alexandra. A girl with the heart of a small child. Because that’s what our Alexandra was, a child. In her craziness, her smile, her carefree spirit, always ready to help everyone, sensitive and compassionate. A monster appeared before her and then this child stood strong, brave and fought until the end. Always with the smile and positive energy that filled her. A fighter who taught us to cherish every minute that passes in our lives. Her passage is not measured in years, but in moments that left an indelible mark on our lives. Our little sister, always and everywhere we will have you by our side. You are the light that will guide us and protect us. We will say goodbye to our Alexandra on Tuesday 26/08, 12:30 at Holargos Cemetery. Instead of wreaths, proceeds to be given to the Floga association for parents of children with cancer. (a donation box will be available on site). Her sisters and family“.
Her final post
Six months before her death, she posted a photo with short hair and the phrase: “A little hint of pink“. A simple message, but full of symbolism, that today reads like a farewell and a reminder to find joy even in the midst of difficulty.
