Paxos: 4-year-old’s grandmother speaks out after drowning – “I’m ready to die”
The girl’s grandmother, speaking about the Paxos tragedy, is heartbroken. “I’m ready to die,” she cried, unable to comprehend how the child was lost so unjustly.
Authorities continue their investigation to clarify the exact circumstances under which the accident occurred.
According to reports, the child’s father and grandfather were sleeping when the 4-year-old left the house. Her mother was reportedly preparing to go to work at that moment.
The girl was missing from home for at least one hour. During this time, Amelia wanted to play and cool off in the villa’s pool, which proved fatal.
The 4-year-old was eventually found unconscious by the villa’s cook. He immediately pulled her from the water and she was transferred to the Paxos Health Center, where doctors fought for nearly 45 minutes to bring her back to life. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful.
It should be noted that the mayor of Paxos, visibly shaken, spoke Saturday morning on SKAI about the little girl’s death, describing it as a “tragic incident“.
