Investigations by the Greek police in West Attica continue at an intensive pace, with new arrests being made. The fight against drug trafficking is ongoing, resulting in the seizure of over 271 kilograms of cocaine, 23 kilograms of cannabis, and more than 2,000 cannabis plants. Additionally, 14 weapons, numerous cartridges, as well as jewelry and gold items were confiscated.
In total, from June 1 to yesterday, August 21, the West Attica Crime Investigation and Detection Subdivision investigated 16 serious cases, leading to the arrest of 39 individuals for serious crimes including attempted murder, robberies, thefts, fraud, drug trafficking, and gang violence. Overall, during the same period, the Subdivision made 869 arrests.
Meanwhile, the operational units of the Special Operations Subdivision carried out:
-3,190- inspections,
-430- detentions,

The Greek Police, with citizen safety as its priority, will continue with undiminished intensity and consistency its operational activities in West Attica, proving in practice that crime is confronted with determination, methodical approach, and organized planning.
Since June 1, continuous operations have been conducted in West Attica by officers from the local Police Directorate and the West Attica Crime Investigation and Detection Subdivision, as well as the Directorates for Combating Organized Crime, Attica Crime Investigation and Detection, and Special Police Forces.
The Greek Police systematically implements, with consistency and continuity, multi-level actions in West Attica areas, applying special operational plans, visible patrols, and targeted operations to combat crime.
Specifically, services of the local Police Directorate and the West Attica Crime Investigation and Detection Subdivision, as well as the Attica Crime Investigation and Detection Directorate and the Organized Crime Combat Directorate, operate daily mainly in areas where increased criminal incidents are observed.
In this context, today another operation by the Drug Enforcement Subdivision was completed in Agia Sotira, Acharnes, during which 11 individuals were arrested, charged with electricity theft and violations of identity document legislation, while a total of 30 personal checks and 23 house searches were conducted.
The above operation also involved officers from the Subdivisions for Crimes Against Life and Property, Combating Human and Goods Trafficking, Economic Crimes Investigation, and Special Operations, as well as the Order Restoration Subdivision and drug detection dogs from the Special Police Forces Directorate.
It is recalled that from June 1, 2025 to yesterday, August 21, 2025:
The West Attica Crime Investigation and Detection Subdivision investigated 16 serious cases, leading to the arrest of 39 individuals for serious crimes including attempted murder, robberies, thefts, fraud, drug trafficking, and gang violence.
In total, during the same period, the Subdivision made 869 arrests.

while providing assistance in 61 cases concerning the investigation of local-level cases.
Additionally, during July 20 – August 10, 2025, 3 large-scale police operations were conducted in the areas of Neoktista, Nea Zoi Aspropyrgo, and Agia Sotira Acharnes, with the participation of special units and local crime investigation departments.
During these operations, 47 individuals were arrested for various crimes, including drug possession and trafficking, illegal weapons possession, outstanding convictions, lack of legal documents, electricity theft, and disturbing the peace.
Furthermore, to combat serious and organized crime, specialized services from the Organized Crime Combat Directorate operate in the area on an almost daily basis. Since early June, the Service has handled 25 cases, leading to the dismantling of 5 criminal organizations, while a total of 83 individuals were charged and 71 were arrested.
