An announcement regarding the horrific femicide that occurred in Volos was issued by the Greek police. Among other details, it was revealed that the perpetrator had been previously charged with criminal organization offenses, as well as violations of narcotics legislation. Additionally, Greek police disclosed that on June 28, 2025, the 40-year-old had been transferred by prosecutor’s order to a clinic for psychiatric examination, where he remained for treatment.

“In the early morning hours of August 22, 2025, a 36-year-old foreign woman was found fatally injured at the entrance of an apartment building in Volos.
Her 40-year-old husband is wanted in connection with the case. A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Volos Crime Detection and Investigation Subdivision, which has ordered an autopsy. The investigation so far reveals no history of domestic violence.
It is noted that the 40-year-old has been charged in the past with, among other things, criminal organization offenses, as well as violations of narcotics legislation, while on June 28, 2025, he had been transferred by prosecutor’s order to a clinic for psychiatric examination, where he remained for treatment.”
