It should be noted that Merominia constitute a traditional Greek practice of long-term weather forecasting, with local character (within a radius of approximately 60 kilometers from the observation point). Mr. Chatzigrivas explains that combining elements from “strategically selected areas” increases their reliability, with success rates that –as he estimates– reach up to 95% in some months.
The general weather outlook for winter 2025-2026
According to the forecaster, these will be the characteristics of this winter:
– Normal temperatures for this winter, but with very high rainfall percentages.
– Among the rainiest in recent years.
– With significant snowfall even in lowland areas.
– With intense and long-duration snow in mountainous regions.
