Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis made his first social media post after being discharged from Dromokaiteio psychiatric clinic, where he had been admitted on Thursday, August 14, following a prosecutor’s order and a request from his father and sister, without his own consent. Specifically, the singer posted a video featuring the song “Crazy” that he had performed, directed at those who wished him ill. The video shows the singer as a “paper caricature” playing his song Zilevω.
“Maybe I am crazy, but you never made me feel good in your arms anyway,” Giorgos Mazonakis wrote specifically. The video depicts a paper likeness of the singer performing the track “Crazy.”
Above it, the singer wrote: “When even Mazonakis in paper form feels more than you do…” while adding: “Maybe I am crazy, but you never made me feel good in your arms anyway…”
Giorgos Mazonakis’ lawyer: He’s trying to handle the ordeal he experienced with composure
Giorgos Mazonakis was discharged from the public psychiatric clinic, where he had been hospitalized since Thursday, August 14 following a prosecutor’s order, on the morning of Monday, August 18. A few hours after he returned home, his lawyer, Giorgos Merkoulidis, made statements regarding the singer’s psychological condition.
Specifically, according to the ANT1 show “Summer Together,” the singer is “trying to handle with composure the ordeal he experienced,” as his hospitalization at the psychiatric facility was particularly demanding for him. “He went with his lawyer to his home and then, from what we know, they went out for dinner. Yesterday evening we spoke with Mr. Merkoulidis, Giorgos Mazonakis’ lawyer. What he told us about his client is that he is in quite good condition, given the circumstances, and is trying to handle with composure the ordeal he experienced. His four-day hospitalization was very demanding,” the show reported.
Subsequently, it became known that the singer will undergo further examinations, so that the situation can be clarified and “every shadow can be removed from his face.” “During our phone conversation yesterday, the lawyer confirmed that Giorgos Mazonakis will proceed with further examinations, so that the process required by law can be completed. He wants every shadow removed from his face and any speculation about his mental health. Beyond his bitterness and disappointment about the involuntary hospitalization, he is in very good psychological condition,” was stated on the same show.
