Shocking images of destruction are emerging from the 550 cars at the Patras Customs facilities of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue that were completely burned by the wildfire in Achaia.

According to initial estimates, 550 cars were completely burned, a number that represents the vast majority of vehicles in the outdoor area. Of these, more than half had completed their life cycle, meaning they could not be auctioned as regular vehicles.

It is noted that the outdoor area had been cleared in June, in accordance with relevant legislation. The Administrator of AADE, Georgios Pitsilis, has already given orders that as soon as the temperature drops to operational levels – it is currently very high due to the heat released by the metal sheets from the fire – a complete damage assessment will be conducted.
