The Coast Guard launched a rescue operation to evacuate people trapped on Limnia and Agia Markella beaches after a wildfire broke out in Chios.
Specifically, under the coordination of EKSED, the operation is ongoing as the fire front is located in the Volissos area. The operation involves 5 patrol boats, 1 naval vessel, 1 patrol boat, and private vessels.
