The flames from a major wildfire that started Friday afternoon in Chelidoni and spread rapidly have reached the first houses in Herakleia, Elis.
The village was evacuated as homes came under threat, with scenes of intense anxiety as elderly residents were hastily evacuated, while the atmosphere filled with ash that fell continuously.
