The cause that triggered the initial paralysis of the limbs and subsequently the respiratory muscles has not yet been clarified. The first brain MRI that the 14-year-old underwent showed no findings that could explain her condition. Therefore, according to the same sources, a second MRI was deemed necessary, which has been scheduled for Thursday.

It should be noted that there was a major mobilization for the transportation and intubation of the 14-year-old, with first aid initially provided at the Karamandaneio Pediatric Hospital of Patras, before being transferred to the ICU of the University Hospital.
