A person who knew the 32-year-old mother of the child found dead in Paleo Faliro, as well as the father, spoke to Alpha TV about the family. As he claimed, he took care of the family from the first moment they came to Greece. Throughout the interview, he referred to the 3-year-old girl who was found dead as “my child.”
“I knew them from 5 years ago when they first came from Turkey with her husband. She was pregnant then, with the first child. She lived with her husband, they were a couple at first. Then problems started, he was beating her,” said the man.
He then mentioned that he saw the 3-year-old girl with injuries to her eye. When he asked the 32-year-old how the child got hurt, she replied that it happened by itself from a fall inside the house, but her two siblings “betrayed” their mother.

“I saw the child beaten… Her eye was purple. I asked her ‘What is this?’, she told me ‘She hit herself here and there’. When I asked the older children who hit the baby, they said: ‘mommy’,” the man emphasized on Alpha’s camera. “I didn’t go to the police because I thought she had fallen. I told her that if we take the child to the hospital like this, they will arrest her,” he added.
“When I saw the video circulated in the media with the 32-year-old, I didn’t recognize her, it was from behind. As soon as I saw the child, I said ‘this is mine’, I called her my child… I called her on the phone and told her I heard on TV that they found a child dead. And she told me: ‘Don’t tell me about murderers, I want pleasant things’,” he added.
