New evidence is coming to light regarding the tragic case of the 3-year-old’s death in Athens. The lawyer of the 32-year-old from Algeria, who is accused of killing her 3-year-old daughter in the rooftop apartment where they lived in the Kato Patisia area and then transporting her to Paleo Faliro where she left her in the sea, appeared on Star TV. As stated by lawyer Evita Varela, who met with the 32-year-old mother, she categorically denies killing her child.
“Our client told us some details, but we didn’t complete the conversation because she was devastated, she was in very poor condition and tomorrow we will speak with her again,” Ms. Varela initially stated.
Subsequently, when asked by the journalist how she explains that the child was found drowned, Ms. Varela emphasized: “She absolutely does not agree with the homicide version and does not accept it from the first moment. She hadn’t even realized she was being charged with homicide. Of course she knows her actions were not right, but she absolutely does not accept that she drowned the child.
Regarding why the 32-year-old took the child to the sea and left her there, the lawyer stated: “The forensic report speaks of drowning. We are awaiting histological and laboratory tests that will reveal the cause of death, and we will try to send this evidence, the primary material, to foreign laboratories so that we have complete proof of what happened.”
As the lawyer added, they were unable to discuss with the 32-year-old what happened during all those hours when the mother left Patisia with the children and went to Paleo Faliro, as her client burst into tears.
She has been a victim of beatings many times
However, the lawyer’s statement that the 32-year-old has been a victim of violence many times caused a sensation.
“This woman has been a victim of beatings very many times and has even ended up in the hospital,” she stated characteristically, repeating that her client categorically denies committing murder.
This is the rooftop apartment in Patisia where the 32-year-old lived
Meanwhile, the television station revealed the rooftop apartment where the 32-year-old from Algeria lived, which authorities literally searched “with a fine-tooth comb,” taking fingerprints from both the interior and exterior to determine if there was any person connected to the 32-year-old.
