Developments are rapidly unfolding in the case of the 32-year-old mother who is accused of the death of her child in Paleo Faliro. On the fatal night when the three-year-old girl was found dead on Eden beach, the 32-year-old mother was reportedly exchanging text messages on her mobile phone with another person, according to witness testimony.

Based on this testimony, authorities are focusing their investigation on this crucial detail, putting her mobile phone “under the microscope” to determine exactly who she was messaging. Police and coast guard officials are expected to investigate the third party or multiple parties with whom the 32-year-old from Algeria communicated and exchanged messages just minutes after she threw or left the little girl in the sea to drown.
Paleo Faliro: Mother’s phone communications under investigation
The communications took place inside the taxi that transported them from Paleo Faliro to Kato Patisia, as reported by the driver himself. Investigators will also examine communications she may have made while heading to Paleo Faliro or even while at the beach.
According to Coast Guard sources, many communications and messages were sent to her sister, to whom she appears to confide what happened and what she had done, with her sister trying to calm her down.
Authorities, by examining the 32-year-old’s mobile phone, will seek to identify the person or persons she contacted and the reasons for doing so. The investigation aims to determine whether this person or persons were in any way involved in the child’s death case. Specifically, whether they knew about it, participated in, or helped the accused at any stage of her horrific actions.
The accused’s mobile phone was handed over by Coast Guard officials to the Criminological Research Department of the Hellenic Police only today at noon, almost 4 days after her arrest, without even requesting a warrant to lift communication privacy protections for data recovery.
When this happens, beyond the communications she made during the disputed time periods, audiovisual material recorded on the device will be obtained, while deleted content will also be recovered, as it may contain useful information about the child’s condition and depictions of places and people that may be related to the case.
Who enters the “frame” of investigations for the dead girl in Paleo Faliro
“In the investigation’s frame” is initially the father of the three children who is being sought, the 65-year-old man who paid for the family’s expenses, another man from Algeria with whom she had relations and appears to be imprisoned, as well as her sister, who appears to be abroad.
As part of the search for the father, this morning, Attica Security police officers found a bag containing her dress and the clothes of the two children captured in security camera footage, hidden in bushes near the 32-year-old’s house.
Along with the clothes, the woman also disposed of the tram ticket she used to travel on the previous Saturday evening, as well as an empty pill blister pack, which beyond its pharmaceutical action, is used in combination with opioid drugs to induce euphoria in users.
Paleo Faliro: 32-year-old mother attempted to flee to Algeria
It should be noted that the 32-year-old, three days after her horrific acts, was seeking ways to escape to Algeria. She contacted her country’s embassy in Athens, asking for ways to return to her homeland.
She even stated that two children, not three, would be with her. The embassy informed her that the only way to return was through the International Organization for Migration and the Voluntary Returns Program. She also called the IOM, sending a copy of her passport and birth certificates of the two children. She scheduled an appointment with the IOM, and possibly on the day of her arrest was heading to the organization. The accused’s sister, after her arrest, called the Algerian embassy to find a lawyer to represent her, but received no response.
