**Authorities** continue their investigation into the death of the 3-year-old girl in **Paleo Faliro**, while examining another horrific scenario – the existence of an **accomplice**. The 32-year-old mother from Algeria, who continuously falls into contradictions, is expected to testify on Wednesday (6/8) and faces the most serious charges for her daughter’s **death**.
It should be noted that the Prosecutor’s Office has already pressed charges against the 32-year-old mother for **premeditated murder and domestic dangerous bodily harm**.
Dead girl in Paleo Faliro: Possibility of abuse by another person remains “open”
**Admiral Nikos Spanos**, speaking on Monday morning (4/8) on ERTnews, stated among other things that it cannot be ruled out that the child was **abused** by someone else. In turn, **honorary president of Police Officers of Southeastern Attica, Georgios Kalliakmanis**, emphasized the scenario involving an accomplice in this specific crime and that the child may have been abused by someone else as well.
Mr. Spanos expressed his view that the Algerian mother had premeditated and planned this specific crime, characteristically saying *”she left her home in lower Patisia with a plan. She knew where she wanted to go and what she wanted to do. She was prepared and determined.”* He added that *”when she left home, she had a **prepared and premeditated plan** to leave the child in the condition it was in – abused, malnourished, sick – and abandon it in the sea.”* He also spoke of an accomplice, emphasizing again that the 32-year-old would **communicate via mobile phone or messages** about the case outcome. Therefore, her mobile phone is also being examined.
“The abuse doesn’t come from just one person”
Additionally, Admiral Spanos emphasized that *”all this abuse that the child appears to have suffered doesn’t come from just one person,”* highlighting the **presence of a male hand** and saying that *”certainly this person must be found.”* He even reached the tragic conclusion that since the child was alive – a fact confirmed by the forensic report – the mother left the child in the sea, hoping that the waves would carry it away and it would be found later in another location, which would further hinder investigations and prevent her from being connected to the child.
The honorary president of Police Officers of Southeastern Attica, Georgios Kalliakmanis, expressed the view that the mother *”went to hide some previous illegal action, and that previous action can only be **child abuse**,”* while noting that the other two children are at least physically well, leading to the conclusion that only the youngest child in the family had been abused.
Furthermore, Mr. Kalliakmanis pointed out that the girl had **multiple injuries to the head and body**, which *”cannot be justified by a fall.”* According to him, the mother appears to have **staged a drowning at sea**, dressing the child in a swimsuit to mislead authorities and make it appear accidental. As he said: *”Perhaps she believed that because the child was foreign, no relatives would be sought,”* he noted, estimating that *”she chose this method to escape responsibility for the child’s abuse.”* Finally, reference was made to the other two children in the family. As stated: *”The children know what happened, but it’s difficult to extract the truth from such young souls who have experienced traumatic events.”*
New evidence contradicts mother’s claims
As investigations continue at the 32-year-old mother’s home, according to SKAI reports, police authorities found **documents from both hospitals and doctors** in her house. The woman had given birth to all three children in public hospitals in Greece. These findings contradict her narrative that **she had never been to a hospital before** and was afraid to take the little girl when she was injured, fearing deportation.
Additionally, **blood stains from the 32-year-old were found in the kitchen sink**, a finding that contradicts what the 32-year-old claimed – that the child fell in the bathtub.
Among the biggest and most tragic contradictions of the 32-year-old is that she claimed during preliminary police questioning that when she took the child to the sea, it was warm and its heart was beating. To port authorities she said **_”I realized after the blow that it wasn’t conscious, it was probably dead”_** and took it down to the sea. She contradicts herself when describing what happened in the water. On one hand she says *”I left it, turned my back and left”* and on the other she says *”I took it there to recover and it slipped from me.”*
New person in the investigation frame
Her husband and father of the children, according to the report, was deported in 2023. Finally, **the landlord of the apartment** in lower Patisia, where the family had been living recently, has also entered the investigation frame. This is a man aged 60-70 years, who apparently visited her at regular intervals, with authorities investigating the role he played and whether there’s a possibility he knows something.
Investigations continue, with anxiety mounting over what ultimately happened to the unfortunate 3-year-old girl.
