Scenes of panic unfolded on Sunday afternoon (03/8) in the Acropolis area, when a serious assault incident occurred. A young man carrying a backpack near the Acropolis Museum attempted to snatch bags and mobile phones from unsuspecting citizens, resulting in one of them seriously injuring him in the head on Makrigianni Street, near the pedestrian walkway of Dionysiou Areopagitou. The would-be robber lost consciousness, causing disturbance at the scene.

Three police officers from the DIAS unit arrived at the Makrigianni pedestrian area to provide first aid to the injured person and take statements from eyewitnesses about the incident, while an ambulance from the National Emergency Medical Service arrived a few minutes later and transported the injured man.
