According to the automatic meteorological station network of the National Observatory of Athens / meteo.gr, maximum temperatures showed a slight increase on Sunday (3/8), mainly in the eastern and southern regions of the country. The highest temperature was recorded at the meteorological station in Stylida, Phthiotida, reaching 37.3˚C.
The published map shows the distribution of highest temperatures across the country along with the 8 stations that recorded the highest values. Additionally, as shown in the histogram at the bottom left, the average maximum temperature in Greece was 31.4°C, remaining for the sixth consecutive day lower than the climate average value corresponding to this season.

In Macedonia from morning hours, clouds with rain and thunderstorms at intervals. In Epirus, the northernmost Ionian (Corfu area) and Thessaly, temporarily increased cloudiness with local rains and possibly isolated thunderstorms. In the rest of the country generally clear weather with local cloudiness in mainland areas during midday – afternoon.
Winds will be variable 4 and in open seas will blow from northern directions up to 5 Beaufort. Temperature will show a slight drop locally in the north. It will reach 32 to 33 degrees in Macedonia, the Ionian and most areas of the Aegean, 34 to 35 in the eastern Aegean and 34 to 36 degrees Celsius in the remaining mainland areas.
MACEDONIA, THRACE
Weather: In Macedonia few clouds that from morning hours will increase and rain and thunderstorms will occur at intervals. In Thrace generally clear with temporary local cloudiness during midday – afternoon.
Winds: Variable 3 to 4, locally in the east northeastern up to 5 Beaufort. In the evening in central Macedonia northwestern 4 to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 19 to 33 and in Thrace up to 34 to 35 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia the minimum 3 to 4 degrees lower.
IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN CENTRAL GREECE, WESTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Generally clear with temporary local cloudiness mainly in Epirus and the northernmost Ionian (Corfu area) where local rains and possibly isolated thunderstorms will occur. Winds: Variable 3 to 4 and from afternoon in the Ionian and coastal areas northwestern 4 to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 20 to 34 to 35 degrees Celsius. In the Ionian islands up to 32 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus the minimum 3 to 4 degrees lower.
THESSALY, EASTERN CENTRAL GREECE, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Generally clear with local cloudiness during midday – afternoon when in Thessaly local rains and possibly isolated thunderstorms will occur mainly in mountainous areas.
Winds: Variable 4, locally in the south western 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 19 to 35 locally in mainland areas up to 36 degrees Celsius.
CYCLADES, CRETE
