Shocking details continue to emerge around the case of the 32-year-old Algerian mother, who is accused of killing her 4-year-old child, found dead on a beach in Palio Faliro, and today was taken to the courts of the former Evelpidon School, where she received a deadline to testify next Wednesday. Specifically, according to journalist Vaso Palaiou, the 32-year-old was taken to the courts of the former Evelpidon School shortly after 10:15 AM. Accompanied by two coast guards, the woman crossed the threshold of the Athens Court Prosecutor’s Office for the execution of the arrest warrant issued against her. The accused, dressed in white pants, a black blouse and a baseball cap, faces the most serious charges of premeditated murder in a calm mental state and domestic dangerous bodily harm. After executing the warrant, she was brought before the investigator. Since she was not accompanied by a lawyer, she requested and received a deadline to testify next Wednesday. Until then, she remains in custody.
It is recalled that the 32-year-old mother of Algerian origin was brought before the investigator on Sunday morning, August 3, after being arrested on Friday morning for the death of the 3-year-old girl in Palio Faliro. The accused, who was transported under strict security measures in a Coast Guard vehicle, sitting hunched over and covering her face with a hat, was expected to request a deadline to testify. It should be noted that criminal prosecution was brought against the 32-year-old yesterday for premeditated murder in a calm mental state against a minor family member and domestic dangerous bodily harm against a family member who for any reason is unable to resist continuously. The case file has been forwarded to the investigator to issue an arrest warrant against the accused.
After two testimonies to police and Coast Guard, the woman has fallen into several contradictions. She allegedly claimed that when the child was injured in the bathroom, she realized the child was dead and decided to leave it in the sea. Conversely, she had testified to police that it was still alive when it was injured in the bathroom of the house. “The child fell in the bathroom, had head injuries, I wrapped it and took it out because the other children wanted to enter. I saw it had injuries. I realized it wasn’t living. I was scared, I didn’t want to go to the hospital because I knew they would blame me. Then, I decided to go to this beach we had been to before,” she reportedly told coast guards.
Palio Faliro: The criminal past of the mother’s partner
The woman’s husband from Algeria remains missing while no one can know if he is also the father of the children. The other two children of the 32-year-old, on orders from the juvenile prosecutor, have been transferred to “Paidos” hospital. The latest information was broadcast on Star’s main news bulletin by Panagiotis Bousios. As he mentioned, he could possibly take custody of the children although he has a heavy criminal record.
Specifically, the mother’s partner, who according to information is of Syrian origin, has been arrested for domestic violence three times:
-In early 2022 in the Patissia area
-In August of the same year and also
-In September 2023 in Nea Smyrni
However, domestic violence was not the only crimes for which he had occupied the authorities. From the investigation conducted, it was found that
-In October 2021 he had been charged with robbery
-In December of the same year for drugs
-And in March 2023 for violation of weapons law.
The most serious criminal prosecutions – Deadline to testify on Wednesday
The woman was taken to court in the morning, accompanied by two Coast Guards, where after the arrest warrant issued against her yesterday was executed, she was brought before the Investigator who will handle the case file. During her transport to court, the woman was not accompanied by a lawyer.
Criminal prosecution has been brought against the mother for the charges of premeditated murder against a minor family member and for continuous domestic dangerous bodily harm against a family member who for any reason is unable to resist. According to information, the evidence from the case collected by Coast Guard and Police provides many answers about the child’s murder and critical details about its condition when found in the sea, abandoned by its mother. The 32-year-old is called to answer to the Investigator on specific issues that have arisen from the investigation. Many of these do not agree with claims she appears to be making while trying to justify why she let her youngest, three-year-old child die in the sea. Also under investigation are the events that preceded the mother and three children leaving their home in Patissia for Palio Faliro to determine exactly what happened to the little girl.
Based on the case file data, the Criminal Prosecutor in addition to the charge of premeditated murder against a minor family member brought charges against the mother for continuous domestic dangerous bodily harm against a family member who for any reason is unable to resist. The charge appears to concern indications, mainly from witness testimonies, of abusive behavior by the mother toward her children, an issue she will be called to answer for.
The other two children of the accused, four and five years old, who are estimated to be tragic eyewitnesses to the events, hold an important position in the drama. The little girl and boy likely know exactly what happened to their sister a week ago and the sequence of events that ended on Palio Faliro beach.
No signs of abuse on the other 2 children
Coast Guard spokesman Captain Nikos Alexiou spoke about the investigations around the case of the three-year-old girl’s death in Palio Faliro. As he mentioned, the forensic examination by the competent Ministry and Judicial Department has been completed, while official findings from histological and toxicological examination are awaited. According to him, all evidence –testimonies, witness statements and the mother’s own testimony– will be considered by the Prosecutor’s Office to reach a safe conclusion about the circumstances of the incident. Mr. Alexiou emphasized that the mother has attempted to attribute the incident to an event that occurred at home, claiming that what followed on the beach was not an attempt to abandon the child, emphasizing they are trying to see if all this is true, while findings and testimonies are being thoroughly investigated. “The woman was located within 5 days thanks to exemplary work by Saronic Port Authority and the Directorate of Maritime Border Security and Protection,” he characteristically noted.
Regarding the other two children of the family, aged 4 and 5, who were present at the scene, the captain emphasized they have been transferred to “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital and are being monitored by a child psychologist. “There is difficulty in communication, it has not yet been possible to take testimony from the children,” he noted, clarifying that according to initial indications, they have not suffered abuse. “The woman remains calm, but since the main investigation is ongoing, we cannot go into details,” he concluded.
Palio Faliro: Neighbor testimony condemns mother – Forensic expert sees drowning in shallow water
It should be noted that the woman is being investigated for abuse, and a neighbor’s testimony has played a role in this. This is a man of Albanian origin who had a relationship with the 32-year-old’s family and who testified to authorities that there were recent incidents of child abuse at home.
Meanwhile, the forensic examination findings so far have not reached safe conclusions, but according to forensic expert Dimitris Galenderis, water and sand were found in the child’s lungs, which “by itself indicates drowning, specifically on a beach, not in open sea.”

Coast Guard spokesman on Palio Faliro: The 32-year-old tried to justify the injury – No signs of abuse on the other two children
Coast Guard spokesman Captain Nikos Alexiou spoke this morning on SKAI and the “Morning Information” show about the Coast Guard investigations in cooperation with Greek Police that led to locating and arresting the 32-year-old woman accused of the 3-year-old infant’s death in Palio Faliro. He described how in just 5 days they managed to solve the mystery with the small child, even going door to door to find the woman.
As he said, video material was collected from the entire coastal front. “We took material from 56 cameras spanning 2 days. Over 1,800 hours of material checked in 2 days,” he characteristically mentioned. At the same time, he referred to locating Israeli tourists who were also the ones who led them to the taxi driver who transported the woman with the children on the day of the 3-year-old’s death, and who in turn showed them the 32-year-old’s house in Lower Patissia. Mr. Alexiou insisted that during her 4-hour testimony, the woman tried to justify the child’s injury by saying there was an incident at home, then put a swimsuit on the child and they went to the beach.
Referring to the woman’s other two children, he said they are at Children’s Hospital and have already seen a child psychologist. As he said, a first attempt was made for testimony but this was not possible. However, he noted that another attempt will be made during the main testimony they will take from them. Mr. Alexiou mentioned that the other two children show no signs of abuse.
Palio Faliro: Blood stains belong to the 3-year-old girl
Yesterday it became known that blood stains found on the roof where she lived with her children in Lower Patissia belong to the 3-year-old girl. The stains were found in drawers between the bathroom and kitchen of the apartment where the mother lived with her minor children.
It is recalled that the 32-year-old claimed upon arrest that the child was injured in the bathroom and then took the infant and the other two children to the sea where she left it, although she realized the body was still warm and the heart was beating. A little later she changed her story to Coast Guards and attributed even the last moment in the sea to an accident, saying the child slipped from her hands.
Important unanswered questions
Meanwhile, very important questions remain unanswered regarding the time of the child’s death, whether it left home while still alive, in a semi-unconscious state, or if it was already dead when the 32-year-old transported it by stroller to the coastal area and finally left it in the sea.
The 32-year-old – who had previously occupied authorities – claimed she didn’t take the unfortunate girl to hospital because she was illegally in the country and because she had previously been arrested for child neglect. Authorities believe this was not an “accident” that happened in the home bathroom, but that the 32-year-old herself caused the fatal injuries to her child.
Galenderis: “What the mother says doesn’t hold up scientifically”
Forensic expert Dimitris Galenderis told ERT: “The facial injuries have no relation to the death mechanism. They’re not connected to drowning or any consciousness disorder described by the mother, because she says it lost consciousness after the bathroom incident, then was taken to the beach where I left it there.
You understand these aren’t verified by forensic science and I think she should start telling the story as it really happened, because what she says doesn’t hold up.” As he said, “the injuries found on the skull were caused while alive, but aren’t connected to brain function disorder,” so they don’t support the scenario of consciousness loss from a bathroom fall. “Water and sand were found in the lungs,” the forensic expert characteristically stated, emphasizing that “this alone indicates drowning, specifically on a beach, not in open sea.” Moreover, the forensic expert poses a possible motive in the 32-year-old’s actions against her little daughter, due to a chronic condition she faced with her liver.
“There is chronic pathology. It’s enough to determine what this is and what disorders the child showed before dying
