In a Facebook post, meteorologist Klearchos Marousakis dispels rumors about a new heatwave hitting Greece. As he points out, “there is no indication anywhere that we will have a new heatwave in the coming days. On the contrary, we will face unstable weather phenomena that may even be concerning, causing temperatures to drop again towards the middle of next week and beyond.”
Klearchos Marousakis’s post
In the last 24 hours, despite the fact that temperatures dropped satisfactorily accompanied by considerable rainfall, estimates about a new heatwave, specifically African, are being circulated, as if we expect heat waves from northern Europe. According to the data available to us from most forecasting systems as well as our own, no such thing is emerging anywhere.
On the contrary, not only is no heatwave coming, but we will face unstable weather phenomena next week that may even be concerning, causing temperatures to drop again towards the middle of next week and beyond.
I dare to give this as a trend until the 10th to 12th of the month and until August 15th, after which the Etesian winds will take over following the instability wave. The heatwave being discussed by some concerns areas of Europe from Italy westward. For after the 15th of the month, we’ll see when we have usable forecasting data in our hands.
We attach a temperature chart from our forecasting system, where we have marked the heatwave levels so you can get an idea of how far below those levels we will be. Have a good rest of Saturday everyone!
